New Year's StarFull Day Workshop
Looking for a bit of a challenge? This may be the project for you. This quilt was designed to cover a number of various construction techniques and gadgets. Included are instructions for the use of "Triangles on a Roll," "Lazy Angle" (a ruler by Joan Hawley), "Angler," and Deb’s specialty ruler the "Tucker Trimmer." Each gadget will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced during the workshop, resulting in a pieced square or two, several pieced sashing units, and a sampling of the pieced border. Truly a spectacular design that requires just three fabrics. Best suited to those with sound rotary cutting and machine piecing skills. Purchase of the tools will be recommended, but are not absolutely necessary.
Millennium StarFull Day Workshop
An original design created by overlapping one block upon another in a computer design program. This quilt can be made either following instructions for a simple three color project of a more challenging five color project. Size options are also available for this workshop. Techniques include strip piecing and "folded corners" using an optional tool, the "Angler." Suitable for all level quilters. Special tools not required, but will be recommended.
Vermont FoliageHalf or Full Day Workshop
A favorite scrap block with many layout options. Students learn how to quickly rotary cut and machine piece all sections. Techniques covered include "folded corners," "Thirty Something" units, and fusible bias appliqué. Participants can then choose to arrange their blocks using a number of different settings including two wall hangings and three table runners. A great way to use up all those bits and pieces. Suitable to all level quilters. Purchase of the specialty tool recommended, but not required.
BOB QuiltFull Day Workshop
An original design that creates a pleasing overall pattern of stars. The design was created by overlapping one block upon another in a computer design program – thus the name – Block on Block or BOB quilt. This striking project can be made by any level quilter, in a variety of different sizes. Techniques covered include speedy strip piecing, "Fast Flying Geese" and "folded corners." Available in various size projects. Suitable for all levels, no special tools required, although several will be recommended.
