No 'Y' Carolina Lily

No "Y" Carolina Lily Full Day Workshop

This class takes students through a variety of skill building techniques as they work on constructing a traditional looking Carolina Lily block. Many students have tended to shy away from this pattern because of the "Y" seams, but with Deb’s altered pattern and construction techniques, students will achieve that traditional look without all of the stress. A "Fast Flying Geese" technique will be used to construct the blocks and a "Migrating Geese" technique will be used to construct the borders. Additionally, Deb will cover the use of bias bars for the Lily stems and several types of applique for the optional leaves. A real charmer of a class and quilt. Best suited to those with a sound rotary cutting and machine piecing skills (not recommended as a first project). No special tools required.

Oak Ridge Stars Full Day Workshop

Oak Ridge Stars

A project specific class that features a 16" block with pieced sashing between and a spectacular pieced border. The quilt was designed to teach students how to use one of Deb’s newest tools the "Tucker Trimmer." With Deb’s tool and techniques, students are able to accurately and quickly sew and then trim down oversized units to give extraordinarily precise squares pieced from 3 and 4 triangles. There is virtually no waste with the technique and the end results will amaze even veteran quilt makers. Two size projects are available: a twin size and a large queen size. Class suitable to all level quilters. Requires purchase of the Tucker Trimmer tool.

Rangeley Stars

Rangeley Stars Full Day Workshop

A spectacular scrap quilt designed to feature three different sizes of Deb’s "Fractured Star" block and the use of her "Tucker Trimmer" tool. This project specific class will have students turning out challenging looking stars with no more effort than that used to construct a simple nine patch. Using Deb’s techniques and her "Tucker Trimmer" tool, students will be able to quickly and accurately assemble 5", 4 1/2" and 12" Fractured star blocks into 17" central block units. Different arrangements of these units will give each student’s project a unique design and various border options will be demonstrated and discussed during class time. Most suited to those with sound rotary cutting and machine piecing skills (not recommended as a first project). Purchase of the Tucker Trimmer tool required.
